Old AccessPlus debit cards deactivated: upgrade to your new card today
MCCU has retired the previous generation of AccessPlus Debit Mastercards. Members still holding an old card should visit any branch to collect and activate their new one, free of charge.

Manchester Co-operative Credit Union (1977) Limited has completed the phase-out of its previous-generation AccessPlus Debit Mastercard. Cards issued under the old programme have now been deactivated and can no longer be used at ATMs, at point-of-sale, or online.
Members who have already collected and activated a replacement card are unaffected and can keep transacting as normal. Members still carrying an older card are asked to visit any MCCU branch to collect their new one, at no charge.
What has changed
The upgrade moves all members onto a single, more secure card platform with improved chip-and-PIN protection, contactless “tap-to-pay,” and full support for MCCU’s online and mobile banking. As part of the transition, every card number from the retired batch has been closed on the network.
“If your AccessPlus card has stopped working at the ATM or checkout, it has most likely been deactivated in the upgrade. Visit any branch with valid ID to collect your replacement. There is no charge.”
How to upgrade
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID to any MCCU branch. A team member will verify your membership, issue your new AccessPlus Debit Mastercard, and help you set your PIN on the spot. In most cases the whole process takes only a few minutes.
Using your new card
Once activated, your new card works everywhere Mastercard is accepted: at ATMs, in-store, and for secure online purchases. You can also link it to Internet Banking and the MCCU mobile app to check balances, transfer funds, and pay bills.
